About Tom Benedek – I am a screenwriter, a TV writer, a photographer and a filmmaker. My best known screenplay credit is Cocoon, from my first major studio writing assignment.
Since then, I’ve had some 40 jobs in film and TV, working with remarkable people-Robert Zemeckis, Lawrence Kasdan, Lili Fini Zanuck and Richard Zanuck, David Brown, Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, Sydney Pollack, Richard Rush, Harold Ramis, Lauren Schuler Donner and Richard Donner, Ray Stark, Brian Grazer, Working Title, Jersey Film, Chris Blackwell and many others.
I have been trying to break into show business and break out of show business for a long time.
Between writing assignments, I work on my own scripts and film projects and teach at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor Fall semesters and online the rest of the year through Screenwritingmasterclass.com and the University of Massachusetts.
